have a local sports complex with five large light poles, they have arecont omni 360 cameras installed. was trying to use cisco wireless ap's. however due to the distance and obstructions they have had no luck. so they ran multi mode fiber from each pole to the head in.what are my options at the head in is their any kind of a fiber switch i can use to get connected to the nvr? or am i going to have to use multiple media converters at each end

Forget that look at NUFIBER.com they make a SFP switch with 8 or 16 ports. Simply take the switch <100 dollars and load each port with SFP stick of your choice (LC is best) and Wa-La you have as many as (8) individual fibers all (pushing TCP packets I assume?) convered to one line outbound.

Works like a charm and you can do it for < 200 bucks.

You can buy a switch with multiple SFP ports and then get the correct SFP module for your fiber.

This netgear switch for example has 12 sfp OR 12 gige ports:
