Hello,

Has anyone seen this ControlCenter error message before? After a few days of recording (7-8), the recordings become unavailable and the below error is displayed

Haven't come across this error message with our systems.  Is there a reason that you're using MxCC vs MxMC(Management Center)?  Mobotix hasn't been updating Control Center since 2015 and Management Center is the platform moving forward.  We still use MxCC for some internal programming & controls but MxMC has been very stable for us and our clients.

Not sure what cameras you are using but maybe it is some conflict with the newer firmware - Though I would have thought it would have shown up sooner than 7-8 days.  Are you recording to on-board microSD or NAS?  It could be a NAS issue.  How many cameras?  Is this happening with all of them or just one?  Does it happen all at once or one at a time?

My next step would be to contact MxSupport.  Once you open a ticket, they'll respond by email.  I'll be honest, their phone support is not good right now but apparently it is a priority to fix sooner than later from what I've heard.  You can always give it a try.  Phone:  212-385-6127.  Email:  support-us@mobotix.com

never seen it. U can try rebooting the cameras, format the micro SD, look up the error codes in the log.

What did u change 8 days ago?

Restore ur configuration to the last working format. Software compatibility (32 <> 64 bits, Wind 7, 8 or 10) may sometimes result in errors.

If the camera's current file server storage has run into problems, e.g. due to a file server overload, this can lead to an inaccessible or corrupt .erdinfo file. MxCC now can handle this situation much better. If the file is found to be corrupt, MxCC creates its own .erdinfo file more reliably in the RAM and without user notification.

Improved handling when writing the .erdinfo file. The handling of errors resulting from updating the .erdinfo file on a file server has been improved in such a way that the camera software prevents subsequent errors and that updating the file works properly again. Gregg, Vincent,

Thanks for the input. It's an existing installation where they use Controlcenter. It's not our install hence i allready sugested them to switch to Management center (and checked with Mobotix if this would have implications for the existing recordings, waiting for reply)

There are only 6 camera's. Once it gets stuck with this error the data can't be accessed anymore. We tried to make a new storage location and that goes well equally for 6 to 8 days and then the same thing happens

Not sure on the MxCC version and firmware versions, will double check

Mobotix support contacted me as a result of this post. They were unaware of this issue since i channeled it through our distributor and not Mobotix directly.

Anyway, they saw the question and contacted me to offer assistance so big thumbs up for Mobotix support, this is definately the way to handle it. I'm confident we'll be able to resolve the issue with this customer now.

Hi Gert!

Just in case you're still struggling with this,

The 'erdinfo' file it refers to - I believe is the index file the cameras use to 'index' their recordings and arranges them accordingly.

Q. Is this happening on multiple (or all) cameras or just one?

If it's happening to just one, you can web-browse into that camera's recording folder and do the following:

- Tell the camera to stop recording (Setup Menu > General Event Settings > Arming: Off)

- Browse into the camera's recording folder and delete the "erdinfo" file found here.

- Reboot the camera and re-enable recording.

The camera will now start rebuilding its index (erdinfo) file, this may take some time depending on how much storage is being utilised and if the camera is still processing new recordings while creating the new index.

When finished, the camera will post a line in the System Messages (under Admin Menu) informing you that it has completed recompiling it.

Hope this helps!
