How are alarm inputs best integrated with Milestone XProtect Pro?

Can a Moxa ioLogik E1263H-T be used to bring alarm inputs into Milestone for example perimeter detection, roof alarms, redwall, laser detectors etc to firm a camera to a preset?

What is the best way of doing this?

Hi Rashid,

There are lot of integration options, I'm not sure is Moxa ioLogik supported, but there are  some i/o devices listed:

https://www.milestonesys.com/community/business-partner-tools/supported-devices/other-xprotect-products/?usingAdvancedMode=True&manufacturerId=0&deviceTypeId=3

When you have inputs as events in Milestone system, you can use "PTZ preset on event" feature.

Optex Redscan sensors are integrated as well:

and some others as well, I suppose.

Hello Rashid, we have some positive experience with these alarm I/O modules: http://www.advantech.com/products/ethernet-i-o-modules-adam-6000-adam-6100-adam-6200-wise-4000-lan/sub_gf-5197 They work properly in Milestone XProtect and the Milestone tech guys themselves recommended these models. I think they were the first such modules to be integrated in the Milestone platform long time ago.

Milestone Systems

As previously mentioned, there are several different IO modules out there which are supported in our software and added/licensed in the same way a camera is.

There are also various access control and alarm integrations already available, and if something more custom is needed, integration can be done using our MIP SDK.

Some systems are capable of being configured to send a text-based message over a simple TCP/UDP connection as well. These messages can be received as a "Generic Event" in all Milestone product versions from XProtect Express and above, and no additional licensing is required to receive generic events.

Based on our Supported Hardware List it looks like we support a handful of Moxa cameras, but I don't see this IO device listed. Still, if the device can be configured within it's own interface to send TCP/UDP messages to a specific IP address, you should be able to receive these as Generic Events.
