To confirm: You need a wireless reader compatible with Lenel Onguard? Or do you need to make a Lenel controller wireless?

either way would work. But mainly need to make a LNL-2210 controller wireless so it can be mobile on their network.

It's unfortunately not likely either would work the same or are interchangeable options.

For a wireless reader, the credentials being read should be defined, ie: 13.56 MHZ, or 125 kHz?  Which formats?  What sort of range is needed?  Is power available?

For a wireless controller, What will the controller control?  Is the opening fixed or mobile too?  Or is it just connected to a reader for scans at a checkpoint?

For the first option, you might check out Securitron's Wireless Access Control Card Reader, but it isn't intended to be mobile, just wireless.

For the second option, you can connect wireless to the ethernet port on the controller using dongles and connect to the local wifi LAN:

But then the issue of remote power/range is still there.

Google TP-LINK wireless N router, really cheap but I will not have the best uptime without needing a reset.

If you want to be truly mobile and badge anywhere there is 4G and you or your customer has the budget. Try a CradlePoint IBR600, you will need to sell monthly data plan and have a one time setup fee for static IP of $500(Verizon). I use these all the time to shove databases into remote panels so the field guys can test prior to a customer new facility has power or network.

Going back to the N router you can tether that to your cell phone and use that data to send your 2210 data back to the host. I mostly use the N router for sending alarm panel signals from the field techs cell phones when you are waiting around for the customer IT to inbound/outbound tcp/udp ports.
