Looking For Information On Hikvision Hiwatch
HiWatch is a name Hikvision gave to some roughly kitted up low cost gear a few years ago. It was more marketed outside the US. In North America, at least, the branding is no longer in use.
There were HiWatch 960H and IP lines, and they were marked HiWatch so that users (like installers walking into ADI or equivalent) would know HiWatch 960H cameras worked with HiWatch 960H recorders, and HiWatch IP domes worked with HiWatch NVRs (specifically the plug-and-play PoE models).
I'm not sure on the status of HiWatch outside North America. There seem to be some references to it, but the latest Hikvision overseas press release mentioning it is over two years old. If Hikvision gets back to us with some clarity, I'll update.
HiWatch is very much alive , it's intended to sell in places like wall mart and costco . The cases are slightly different ( white for basic and black for advanced models) . The part numbers are smaller but inside its same as its so-called commercial models.
The range includes Ip and TVI with 720P only units also available.
TVI models start at $36 for 4ch 720p

#2, Do you know what countries? I have not seen nor heard of HiWatch selling in the US.
Update: received information from outside the US who also says HiWatch is being sold and that HiWatch uses lower cost components, ergo the modified brand name.
