Looking For Information On Bortox

Hi guys,

I don't have any experience on security cameras, and this is my first time posting on IPVM, but here I go. I found Bortox, a local security camera company, while doing some research on home security. Its price is much cheaper than Axis (what I want to go for), so I am not sure if anything would be compromised.

Any advice would help! Thank you so much for taking time reading my post!

#1, thanks for your first comment.

I have never heard of Bortox before. There are no other references on IPVM to them. On a Chinese import report I have, I found one mention of them with a small shipment.

From reviewing their website, they look to be one of many relabellers / installers across the world that sell on low cost. Who they are buying from in China I am not sure.

Two of the main constraints on the Bortox approach are (1) if you ever want to expand with anything else, it's unlikely that it will work and (2) if you ever need anyone else to support it, it will be unlikely (since this is some relabelled Chinese product). And then there is the issue of quality and the quality could be especially poor if they are relabelling a smaller Shenzhen offering.

You mentioned Axis. Have you considered Camera Companion? They have a new ~$100 camera that was just released. We are finishing up our test report and will release it next week. Companion is the appropriate offering for a smaller system that has higher quality but needs to be closer in price to Chinese products.

As for Bortox, I would recommend you call them up and ask them what products they are relabelling / reselling. If they hide it, it's a bad sign. If they are honest and the manufacturer is not bad, consider it.

This is a Longse OEM.

You can find reports on them on this site

Yes, looks like Longse, right down to the Hikvision cloned web interface.

Don’t get too much near the lip area, it never turns out well.  Oh, wait ... that’s Botox.  Sorry ;)

Paul, #3, thanks, nice work!

#1, I would not recommend Longse, certainly not Longse rebranded by someone else. If you want Longse, buy it directly from them, they will be happy to spam you. Also, Longse vs Dahua and Hikvision Tested
