Looking At Illustra Cameras

Per a customer request, we've been asked to add a competitive Illustra (vs. Axis) camera quote.  We've never used Illustra cameras before but have heard their lower line (comparing against Axis M3044, M3045) is generally OEM.  Is this the case, or can anyone confirm?  I'm obviously concerned about OEM's or Relabled Hikvision or Dahua cameras because of their past vulnerabilities and hacks.  I'm going to go through the older IPVM articles and see if I can find product comparisons to make sure it's at least apples to apples on performance.

Just looking visually at the cameras on their website, I see a few Dahua looking models (Essentials line), but nothing that appears to be a dead ringer for Hikvision. In fact, I would say some look more like Geovision or UNV OEMs.

Thanks Jon. This is helpful, I obviously don't want to go off of what I've just heard.  The essentials 1MP and 2MP are what I'm being told is the most comparable to the Axis M3044 and M3045.

Jon is correct, the Essentials line is Dahua OEM. We've tested some of their other models and none were noticeably OEM, at least not of anyone I was familiar with.

The Pro series models we tested performed reasonably well at the time, but our test was in 2015 and we have not tested their updated models.

Yes the entry level (essentials) AD stuff is Dahua.
