Long Term Storage Solution For Exacqvision EL Linux Based Recorder

We have a customer that has a few ELS Exacq units that run on Linux. He wants to add on enough storage to get 6+ months of retention. This would require about 12+ TB. Has anybody done this and what was used? Can Linux accept ISCSI? There aren't a lot of cameras so speed isn't a factor. The single internal drive in the system is running just fine. Exacq likes to see it as direct attached storage. I haven't experimented with their archiving features yet. Thank you

I connected an iSCSI array to one of their Linux boxes a few years back. It was a pain but we finally got it working and able to auto reconnect after the unit rebooted. I was able to get most of it done myself but needed some help from a Linux guru in their Tech Support. Don't quote me but I thinks it's one of those things "not officially supported" but you should be able to make it work.

If you look at their knowledge base, you will find this article on how to connect iSCSI to Linux.

If you want to use a NAS, you can find out how to do it here, thought it is not officially supported by Exacq.
