I have a client that needs to see what's going on outside the door before exiting the building. You know, to avoid an ambush.
I've come up with half a dozen ways to get it done, but I just can't seem to get it cheap enough.
Does anyone have an idea for an inexpensive live view camera solution?

A video intercom is likely your best bet. If WiFi isn't there, pulling up video on a phone isn't going to happen, but something like an Aiphone JOS-1V video unit might be useful. Street pricing is higher than those resi doorbells, but still under $500 and it has a view station on the inside to see what the camera sees.

Does it have to be electronic, or would a Door scope style device work?
If you don't need any access from computers or mobile devices look at TVI camera with TVI to HDMI converter with a monitor.
