Anyone Know A Way To Capture Live RTSP Stream From DJI Go App / MAVIC Drone?

Does anyone know of a way to capture the live video stream produced by a Mavic Drone, connected to the DJI Go Mobile application.  I would like to make a connection to the mobile device if possible to "pull" a live video stream via RTSP into a third party software application. Any suggestions?

I'm interested in this as well - just for fun. I doubt that DJI presents an RTSP stream "out of the box", but there are a few options.

- There might be a phone/tablet screen mirroring application with RTSP capability. If so, that is probably the easiest, cheapest, and most portable option.

- DJI have a mobile SDK enabling access to live video and telemetry data. Writing a whole app just to siphon the live feed off to a VMS seems like a pain and I'm not sure how well it would work along side the DJI Go app but I'm assuming DJI thought of that?

- Some DJI controllers include HDMI out which you might be able to pipe to an encoder. I've never looked for appliances that do this before but they look awfully expensive and not very portable.

Milestone Systems

I don't have any insight into the first two items but I know the third one works if the controller has an HDMI output.  We have a couple of customers that have connected their drone controllers to a Marshall Electronics HDMI Encoder (they are ONVIF compliant) in order to bring the video into their Milestone system.

A video feed to the VMS will be a requirement for security managers to fully embrace UAV's in a security response capacity. IMHO

But the lower bound of what VMS vendors will do to talk to cameras means this is likely to happen in an unsafe unstable manner so they get to use their toys ASAP.  "Have you ever thought about securing the device" is one of those hard questions drone/robot vendors don't seem to have considered...

Poor drone security is a feature, not a bug

I am curious to see how much interest there might be for such a solution.  I have identified a combination of Portable products that will utilize a WiFi enabled encoder that supports a rechargeable battery, that is capable of transmitting a live 1080p/30fps video stream from the DJI app screen output with Live Video and OSD to a VMS over 3/4g via ONVIF.

Any interest?

I’m definitely interested in that combination!

But ultimately I would love to be able to control the camera on the drone from within the VMS.

Hi! Any chance you would like to share your combinations list?

There are couple of ways this can be achieved

1) Screen mirror the app from the mobile/handheld device where the app is being used to an RTSP broadcaster (like Epiphan broadcaster) which involved hardware and setup.

2) DJI app has custom mode other than facebook/Youtube streaming where you can input RTMP url from a streaming service provider who support streaming software like wowza or get an account from wowza directly which inturn support multiple output streaming protocols including RTSP etc that can be tied to a VMS.
