Does anyone know if the Knightscope robot broadcasts any type of authentication publicly or to a registered owner? AI bots should incorporate some type of beaconing service that identifies that it is authentic and authorized to be doing what ever it is doing, perhaps even identify whom it is working for. Hopefully this technology service is already in production as we start to see the influx of robots in our public space. Privacy is one issue with these robots, let's say Jamie Foxx was on his cell phone, could /does that robot record audio? Another issue is safety, what if a terrorist group uses a robot as a trojan horse with ill intent of implanting explosives or dirty bombs inside the robot and sending it into a public area /event?. Who monitors these robots? Does anyone know what laws there are regarding deploying the robot itself? Back to the authentication process, perhaps all AI bots should broadcast to a phone app which shows their location, owner and route. This app should be free to download and public choice if they are interested to use it. I could be wrong on all of this, but I feel it is lawless to just implement these devices into our culture with out stipulating and qualifying all the capabilities and technologies that reside underneath the hood. One day we may think it is normal as a robot roving around giving everyone flu shots.
