Kantech Active Directory Rant / Alternative?

Is there anyone else out there that has software that integrates nicely with active directory that can use kantech controllers or am I looking at a complete replacement? What access control software out there actually does what I'm looking for that you would recommend?

I have an existing Kantech installation spread throughout 16 buildings, with 25 controllers (KT-400s mostly), 68 doors and over 500 cards.

I'm sick and tired of manually managing Kantech users/cards separately and a fully manual process. I want my access control system to be able to synchronize with active directory so that I can on-board and off-board employees using automation tools

This is what I want: If a user in AD is disabled I want access control access to be disabled. If I attach or change a card# in AD I want it to update in access control. I want to be able to link AD groups to access levels and be able to add/remove AD users from groups which then controls what door access they get. I want to be able to delete an AD user and it deletes the access control user.

Yes I have tried the kantech AD integration module, made them to give me a trial of the module a while back which we never did get working. I would love to know if there is actually anyone out there that uses the module and how they use it.

There are other systems that use the Active Directory integration Like Lenel for instance that works really well. The one caveat to this is you really need to pay to have them get the integration working unless you are very familiar with Active Directory and the integration part of the system software you are using. Since Active Directory integration isn't typically a "Custom Solution", rather an out of the box integration I would imagine if installed properly in the beginning should work very well. I can't speak for Kantech though. Good luck with this. As with any system though issues typically come down to user permissions.

Hartmann Controls has nice AD integration, you can reach us at 1 877 411 0101 and request a demo, obviously this would be an alternative.
