Issues With Viewing Corridor Mode On Hikvision Camera

I have a medium sized deployment quoted for a client with Hikvision equipment and NVR in an apartment block. I bought one of the domes I quoted him to play around with and see if it would operate in corridor mode, which it does. However it seems the only time it is actually viewable in its proper 9:16 mode is through the web interface live view.

iVMS-4500 (mobile app) and Hik-Connect both display the stream in 16:9 all stretched out. Rotating the screen doesn't change anything. Worse yet, using the web interface live view on my home NVR it will only display the main stream. Sub stream fails to load. When I went back into the camera image settings and rotated it back to 16:9 it displayed the sub stream in the NVR live view, and subsequently when I tried to turn rotate on again it failed, saying "Encoding performance reaches its limit".
