It seems like every few years one of these kinds of companies with a teargas/smokescreen concept shows up, and then you never hear any more about it.

Especially this one, since it appears to require a human operator to 'pull the trigger':

Activated via a system touchscreen, Sentrē releases short bursts of water with nontoxic additives from the ceiling on the source of the threat. It causes significant irritation to eyes, nose, throat, lungs and skin—virtually immobilizes the perpetrator until In-House Responders intervene or law enforcement arrives.

I just want to see the demo.  I volunteered to do a 1 second taser ride at a National League of Cities show several years ago in NOLA when Taser still did this.  Holy Moses on a skateboard, that was a terrible idea.

The Best New Product 2017 winner is CrucialTrak's BACS billed as "World’s First 4 in 1, Less than 1 sec Processing All Touchless Multi Biometric Access Control System"

Video embedded:

Sounds neat but outside of very high risk facilities not sure the application/demand over less expensive one or two mode authentication. Thoughts?
