ISC West 2021 Tchotchke Review And Awards
Kudos to Reed for putting their best, bravest foot forward to host ISC West this year. We all knew it was going to be far less than The Mother of All Security events of yesteryear, but we were all pleased to be out of our bunkers. So, the carpeting on the show floor had been removed to lessen the exposure to Reed shareholders; so, you could do a circuit in 20 minutes that took four hours in 2019; that there were large patches of the show floor balder than an attendee's head. It didn’t matter. There were enough friendly faces to make up for the absence of Bosch and Milestone and Siemens and the Chinese regulars.
But as we gathered around the evening campfires at the Venetian for a drink and a shmooze at the end of the days’ sessions, it was the tchotchkes that let us down in 2021.
