I think that IPVM is the best resource for the video surveillance market; but, what about burglar alarm, smoke detection, security and home automation ?
Everything is so fast and we need to stay in front line to understand new needs and fight new azzard.

Of the trade magazines, I think SDM does the best job of covering those markets. It's not IPVM style exactly but they do periodic long form articles about burglar, fire, home automation, etc.
On our side, Brian is going to be spending more time covering the intrusion / burglar side but it will still remain a distinct niche relative to over coverage in video surveillance.
