Is Hikvision Throttling Back Resolutions On 3rd Party Cameras?

We recently installed a hybrid solution to include some HikVision and Avigilon Analytic cameras.  The client wanted to have all cameras on their HikVision NVR because they love the phone/tablet App vs. what Avigilon has to offer.

Were able to connect the Avigilon cameras to the HikVision NVR but they only allow for SVGA 800X600 resolution.  The Avigilon cameras are 5MP and 8MP cameras, but they obviously look terrible now.  Has anyone else noticed or had an issue with HikVision only allowing your 3rd party cameras a certain resolution to be used?

We tested a HikVision camera on the ACC platform and Avigilon allows for the resolution of the camera.  Is HikVision throttling back resolutions on 3rd Party cameras to make their products look better?

I've never seen this problem, I just looked into this by adding a 3MP and a 5MP Avigilon camera to our 7608NI-I2 via Onvif and they displayed in the proper resolution. What model Hikvision NVR is it? Is there no option to change resolution in Video/Audio settings? Is it grabbing a sub stream by default?

Does your NVR allow those resolutions? Perhaps if you have an older NVR that doesnt accept those resolutions, then it will default to your substream

Was this a new install?  I mean did you intentionally use Avigilon analytic cameras with a Hikvision NVR or did you take over a current install with the Hikvision NVR?

Use ONVIF Device Manager, and see if you can determine which profile is being used by the NVR.  Maybe it created or chose weird ones.

Then, in ONVIF Device Manager, see if you can edit those profiles and change their resolutions.
