IPVM Integrator Group/Discussion - Are You Interested? Topics?

An integrator member reached out looking for options regarding joining an industry group to talk about best practices, marketing ideas, etc.

In other industries, there are association groups like the National Auto Dealership Association 20 Group where geographically non-competing dealerships gather to discuss the sales climate, industry trends, or even specific financial details. In the physical security industry, there are groups like PSA and others.

If IPVM was to facilitate an Integrator Networking Group or Discussion, who would be interested? What topics would interest you the most? What would you see this being able to offer that the normal Discussion Section doesn't already provide in terms of integrator feedback?

I mean in Canada we sort of have this already, though severely under used, CANASA. For example, under regulations for my province, they have the latest permit pulling guide as 2006, and still have "10 digit dialing coming soon!" (It's been here for over 6 years now).

I could see the benefits, I don't know even just having sub forums in the discussions would be a start. One section strictly for integrator stuff. Best practices, code compliance, looking for on-site help in a remote-from-me area. So on and so forth.

I think just organizing the discussions a bit more would bring a world of difference, versus starting a whole new group.

HTG

I would love to have something like this dedicated to the security/intergration market.

Have seen the power of this forum really transforming small business.

I would be interested in the group as well.

Would recommend the following:

Keep each group to 20 members - everyone knows everyone

Members are geographically dispersed to reduce competition issues

Closed group.  All information stays within the group.  No new entry without the group OK

Companies compare monthly financials to others in group and industry - This is the real power of the forum.  Know where you are at in relation to your peers.

Get real and stay real with your peers supporting each other with information.

Each member is free to run their business how they see fit.  But to see and hear how others run their business is really powerful.

Can we have quarterly meetings in luxury destinations/resorts like the Nada 20 groups do? 😂
