IP Camera With Analog Out

We have unique situation where we have a client that needs recording to a NVR but also needs a direct analog output to a computer for a custom software application. We would like to go all IP based so we can tie these cameras into their Milestone deployment and still accommodate the analog side.

Right now it's old analog cameras with a spliter.

Any thoughts on cameras?

What are the resolution requirements of the analog camera here?

The analog side doesn't need to be more than 1080 we could probably get away with 720.

Here is a link to our camera finder results with criteria of 720P - 1080P cameras with analog outs. (https://ipvm.com/camera-finder/gfgh5)

It is worth confirming the analog output actually supports full resolution.  Many times the analog resolution is less than the output of the IP side.

"It is worth confirming the analog output actually supports full resolution"

What do you call full resolution for Analog camera?

The analog output may not match the full possible IP MP resolution. ie 1080p camera with analog out @ D1 (720 X 480).

Could you use an IP decoder and run that to your analog application?

Couldn't you also go though the inverse? Get an analog camera with a splitter and have one side go to the customer software application and have to other go to an IP Encoder and bring that stream into Milestone.

Have a look at the Uniview IP Cameras with analogue BNC output.

Unview camera selector (Under BNC tick yes.)

We quote these for when customers need an analogue replacement camera...

They work well with Milestone and are good value for money

Disclaimer - i work for the Australian distributor for Uniview in a technical support role.

There are a few affordable HIK models that feature this.

The VF Dome and Bullet (DS-2CD26xxFWD-IZS and DS-2CD27xxFWD-IZS) have an analogue output directly from the camera.

Why not use a decoder? That would allow you to take just about any camera you want and grab a stream from it and decode it down to an analog out, but also maintain the native resolution via the main stream. You'll only get a max of a 720p out, but that's all that should be expected with analog overall.

For example, the Axis P7701 appears to be exactly what you're looking for. It would also allow you to locate it anywhere via network, as opposed to having to splice together analog cables to get what you're looking for.

Seems like the best and easiest solution to me, but I could be missing something.

How do you get 720P analog output?

it'll do 720p out through the dvi output, to a monitor

Then it's not analog

From the cut sheet.

"AXIS P7701 can scale video to a maximum resolution of 1280x720 pixels on LCD screens, while on analog monitors, the maximum resolution is D1"

A bunch of Hanwha cameras have this, IIRC.
