Integrators: At Your Company, Who Decides Which Product Lines You Sell?

An integrator I know in a mid level position was lamenting not being able to sell a specific camera line because management said no, they had already invested time in training and marketing for their existing lines.

It reminded of my time as an integrator, where we actually had a "product selection committee" which met to discuss new lines. It consisted of engineering, sales, service, and management, and we more or less all had to agree that we should pick up a new line in order to start selling it. One or two of something else for specific applications was fine, but changing lines totally was a big decision (probably too big).

Integrators, what do you do? Is product selection a free for all? Is it determined by one person? Or is it a committee decision?
