Impact Of “Pandemic” And “Social Unrest” On Market For Remote-Monitored Alarm Systems

Lots of inquiries lately… Here is my short opinion, not a formal report, just opinion…. Please add yours.Monitored alarm customers are now divided into two broad categories “deterrent type” and “defensive type”. Deterrent customers are offered “rapid customer notification without predictable site response”. Whereas, Defensive customers are offered rapid police notification with probable high priority site-response. The primary difference is… defensive customers have remote-witness via two-way interactive audio or video or analytics, to identify valid 911 type threats for rapid police response. Signals from motion activated deterrent customers are assumed to be low or no priority nuisance alarms. We forecast very high cancellation, without penalty, of deterrent customers that have been paying the higher defensive fees; And great opportunity for deterrent upgrades to defensive systems; And more creative private security response like armed/unarmed private “Uber-type relationship” with retired and off-duty police; and lots of DIY, MIY deterrent products; And fines/fees paid by monitoring firms (the caller), not the alarm site; And much of the state and local legislative demands for licenses, regulation, and permits invalid due to discrimination; And investors & lenders focused on the cause of attrition, not just the numbers. And……. Please add/subtract from the list. source: Lee Jones; Support Services Group
