I've been asked for ideas how to retrofit up a sliding gate that's in a room in one of our buildings. It's probably about 10' high so you could get over it with a ladder if you wanted. The design of the gate itself is a sliding gate with gaps. Edit: it is card reader access.
It's got something that looks similar to a Securitron GL1-FL Gate Lock on it that's faulty so they either want it repaired or replaced. It's been fitted with a thumb turn on the secure side so egress is possible. Once you're inside the gate, the gate is the only way back out of the room so we would always want to maintain egress. The problem is you can take a screwdriver from the unsecure side and just operate the thumb turn through the gate's gaps.
