In my experience, having worked with older techs, I always thought the hardest part for them would be keeping up with technology. I mean some try, and struggle, others can sorta pick it up, but others just seem to straight up refuse. I'm in my early 30's, don't work with too many older techs, but the few I do can still physically run circles around me, but you try to do basic programming, and intermediate network troubleshooting and it's almost sad. It's not exclusive to older techs, but more noticeable I suppose.
With less younger people wanting to get into this industry, do yourself a favour and try and keep up. I can always appreciate someone trying and failing, but don't just flat out refuse because you don't want to.
