How Do I Capture License Plates At 90MPH?

A car going 90MPH travels 132 feet in a single second. Even if a camera is capturing 30fps, that means the car will move over 4 feet in every frame. You are not going to get many shots at a license plate, even with a very fast shutter because the car will be out of the FoV fairly fast.

Now, cars going that fast are uncommon but there are occasions, like here, where it might be needed.

Anyone have any experiences with very fast license plate capture to share?
