How Absolutely Do Dell Servers Require Dell Drives?
I am working on a smaller camera system for a mid-size business, with relatively massive storage requirements. The customer's MSP is going to be providing a Dell server (Dell branded, not OEM) for the system.
The price of the Dell enterprise drives in the server is higher than the camera hardware combined (mainly Axis P-series for context). I am recommending that they buy an empty dell server and put in WD Purple Pro drives that will be 1/4th the price, but the MSP is saying Dell is getting really difficult lately if the drives aren't Dell certified.
