History Feature In Axis Motion Detection

IPVMU Certified | 11/19/13 02:53pm
Has anyone had any luck tailoring the “history” feature while configuring motion detection in Axis cameras? If so, what applications; leaves, blinking lights, fluorescent fluctuations? The “object size” and “sensitivity” are easy enough, but I’m having trouble finding the sweet spot with history.

In our tests, we didn't really find that history made a lot of difference except at extremes, so I'd call the "sweet spot" the default. Object size and sensitivity were by far the more important settings.
I imagine History is using Camera buffer memory with 1 to 15 previous frames and compare to them to decrease false positives
Sony with its IMD is using 15 frames to detect recurent moves like trees or flags
