Hikvision USA is ramping up its efforts to go after retail and they've nabbed a veteran from Exacq / Tyco.

Cliff Miller had been at Tyco for nearly 8 years and, for a number of those years, had been leading retail sales. His experience at Tyco should be quite helpful ramping up Hikvision's sales to the price sensitive whales in retail.

While Hikvision attended the NRF LP show in June, they had a small booth in the back corner. By comparison, Axis, the biggest security camera provider for US retailers had the biggest booth in the front of the show floor with 20+ people staffing it.

Retail sales cycles are long and require dedicated manufacturer sales efforts (e.g., see how Axis won H&M). The good news for Hikvision is that they have a seemingly infinite budget to spend on sales and marketing, which gives them a strong possibility of landing retailers with tens of thousands of cameras each at their extremely low prices.

Cliff Miller had been at Exacq (now Tyco) for nearly 8 years and, for a number of those years, had been leading retail sales at Exacq.

Not sure how relevant it is, but Cliff was never part of Exacq prior to the acquisition...he was part of the retail team for Tyco Security Products promoting all TSP lines for the vertical. He was never an Exacq employee.

Not quite accurate. Cliff had been at Tyco Security Products primarily supporting Video Edge and came from the company Trident Tek that originally developed what is now Video Edge. He is a definitely a valuable resource to any company.

Absolutely...never said he wasn't valuable. He's a great guy and very talented. I was just clarifying that he was never part of Exacq.

1, thanks. My apologies.

I assumed incorrectly from this Exacq post he had previously been part of Exacq but, based on your explanation, I know see this is after the Exacq acquisition.
