Trying to decide if the design of this is "cool high tech" or "weird movie prop". Would your customers want this on their property?

Maybe a Star Trekkie would ... sort of looks like NGC1701 ...

For those who don't know what it is, from Hik's blog,

Hikvision headquarters, based in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, recently announced its upcoming “DeepinView” security camera series in a corporate press release.

Hikvision’s DeepinView security cameras improve the intelligence and power of video surveillance performance for a variety of applications by using deep learning algorithms that perform feature learning and provide accurate video content analytics (VCA), reducing security concerns associated with inaccurate data. “When coupled with high-speed GPU processing, Hikvision DeepinView cameras demonstrate faster computing with large amounts of data,” according to the press release.

In an interview with leading security publications SecurityInfoWatch.com and SD&I, Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA Inc. and Hikvision Canada Inc. discussed artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning as part of Hikvision’s lineup for video analytics and new products such as Hikvision’s DeepinView security camera series and Hikvision’s DeepinMind NVR series.

Hikvision’s DeepinView security cameras feature specialized analytics including human body detection, facial recognition, people counting, and vehicle management for traffic applications and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

Launch dates for the DeepinView camera series will be posted on the Hikvision corporate website. To read the entire press release, click here.

If it didn't have the cable out and displayed so prominently I would buy a kerbillion of them because it reminds me of a Cylon.

Could say the same about a lot of security products. E.g. Paradox's outdoor motion detector - looks like a prop from a bad sci-fi movie, and I quite like the look of Arecont's 8185DN camera - sort of a steampunk design.
