Hikvision Alternatives - Considering Hanwha And Video Insight?

For the past 3 years we have been using Hikvision. Until the past couple of months we have been very happy with them. Lately we are having a lot of firmware and software issues with both NVRs and IP Cameras. I love the fact that we are purchasing 8 MP cameras for approximately $130. However as service calls are ramping up and customers are complaining. I have not had anyone bring up the government band and China issues. All of the installs and programming have been correct and professional. Recently we have met with both Hanwha and Panasonic/Video Insights. There are pros and cons that I have found from both. The biggest issue I am fighting with is going from a Platinum Dealer with one company and starting over with another. I feel our techs and myself can trouble shoot just about any issue and have a strong knowledge with Hikvision.

For those who have switched from Hik to Hanwha what have you seen in improvements and what have you not liked?

Also I have not seen much on here about the Panasonic/Video Insight line and curious what everyone thinks.

I do not feel that it is efficient or wise to sell and service all three brands. I would love to hear everyone thoughts and experiences. Thank you.

No manufacturers can compete on price and performance vs hikvision. Its not even close, so temper your expectations when it comes to that.

The next best if you are playing in that low cost realm is hanwha, uniview imo. Hanwha for sure when it comes to comparable support with hik.

Video Insight software is pretty good, we have not tested it in a while but even when we did, it was solid, e.g., Panasonic Video Insight VMS Tested.

The issue with Panasonic is just their limited camera lineup especially if you are coming from $130 8MP cameras...

Panasonic has Advidia but that's OEMed Hikvision, etc.

Panasonic has recently been spun off and that likely will help them but Panasonic is not a strong low-cost offering today.

As #2 mentions, Hanwha and Uniview are the 2 most common alternatives. Or Dahua if you do not care about the ban or sanctions.

If going with Hanwha you would want WAVE which is their version of Video Insight.

WAVE which is their version of Video Insight

Just to clarify, Hanwha's Wave is their VMS, OEMed from Network Optix, it's a VMS like VideoInsight but not from VideoInsight.
