Can I expect better night vision from the Exir Hik 2.8mm or 4mm turrets vs the domes? If my concern is the best blend of day and night vision is 1.3mp or 1080p a safe bet?

Feb 13, 2017The turrets are a better solution for outdoors. The domes get residue on them and blur out your night time pictures. The turrets lens is separate from the IR and wont interfere.
IR is just about the same on each but has a wider angle so no IR hotspots

Feb 13, 2017We have a test of EXIR Cameras vs. the non-EXIR counterparts. In our tests, EXIR definitely had better range and more even coverage, but overexposure was more frequent at close ranges compared to non-EXIR models.
Also, Hikvision's new EXIR line looks like it's dropped the large LED(s) and gone back to a ring of smaller IR LEDs, so performance may vary. We plan to test it in the future, but no date yet.
