Help Needed With Dahua Failures During Video Playback

Hello to everybody! We have installed one year ago a Dahua NVR -128 channels- line 6000.

After this time appered this this problem: if you playback video continuously through, for instance, half an hour, there is no problem but if you "jump" the time (always directly in the NVR) the camera show nothing at all.

For example, the equipment records a camera from 11:00 to 11:30. If you see the playback continuously: no problem at all, all the video was recorded, but if you apply the cursor to 11:12 hour and try to see the playback, the cursor jumps "automatically" to 11:32. This is happening randomly in every channel and in every camera. It is the same effect if nothing was recorded but, I repeat: you can see continuously in playback without interruption correctly.

I´ve installed 40 PTZ Dahua domes onto this NVR. It functioned without any problem till now: firmware and software actualized, but the failure persists. Any idea?

Thank you! and sorry for my english :) Juan.

Juan, sorry about that. Our understanding is that a firmware update will be out that addresses this issue in the next month or two. I am not sure what you can do for now but hopefully they will fix this.

Thank you John, in this instance we have three alternatives: change the firmware of the Dahua NVR, the firmware of the cameras or the VMS of Dahua: reinstalling the PPS. We have lot of problems with Dahua that I could advise to other colleagues in this excellent forum. The problems, as we all know, never are "casual" but "causal".

Argentina (South America) market is flooded -literally- with an enormous volume of Dahua equipment that, for me, having a long time integration experience, don´t receive adequate quality control procedures.

And the software is, as always, in beta-testing state (but it´s free and is a "commercial advantage" to those who want to give an integrated and cheaper solution!

Regards, Juan.

Juan, thanks for the feedback. I have heard similarly how South America is flooded with Dahua. Hopefully, users learn more over time about the overall issues, especially on the recorder side, where software quality really does make a difference.

To your point, if you can migrate that system to a higher quality recording platform, it might be the best long-term solution.
