I want to use a normal IP camera, but transfer data using a cellular switch or something of this nature.

Dec 05, 2017Using LTE to stream video from a camera to NVR will use a ton of data. I would recommend having local recording on site and using the LTE for the client to connect.

Dec 05, 2017Yes, this setup uses a Verizon 4G/LTE modem without streaming continuously over LTE. Uploading only metadata+thumbnails reduces data usage by 10x or more depending on the scene's activity level. Make sure your modem can be rebooted remotely, since we found periodic reboots mandatory to keep network connections.

Dec 06, 2017I need to grab Universal RTSP/RTP UDP to use with the VMS. I think there is a web portal that shows the video from the cell cams. Maybe I grab it there?

Dec 06, 2017I would check a couple of things before you do this. 1) Do you have a publicly routable IP address 2) How much data do you have on your plan 3) Are you violating the T&C of your LTE provider. If you're not careful you could have huge bills for data overages.

Dec 06, 2017I'd still rather beam it in from an location WITH a connection if that's the case. Hook or crook. There are 60Ghz point-to-point systems for that. Almost anything's better than an additional data plan.
