Has Anyone Tried Satellite Instead Of Cellular For Remote Video Applications?

I have two customers looking for very remote locations to have our remotely monitored video security and cellular is an iffy proposition in both cases. So, I thought satellite might be a solution but the little I'm able to find on it suggests that the latency may be a problem. I'm hoping someone in the IPVM community may have some past experience you can share!??!?!
