Farewell And Thanks To Brian Karas

IPVM

Brian Karas has left IPVM. I want to thank him for working hard over the last 2 years and wish him the best.

He is returning to the manufacturer side, joining FLIR, where he will be working in a product role with video analytics (details to be announced closer to ISC West). Here's Brian's LinkedIn profile.

As Brian himself reported, FLIR's security business has struggled and FLIR has restructured their security division, so he has some challenges ahead but surely he is up for it.

Other IPVM Changes / Hires

While we are on the topic of IPVM employee changes, unrelated to Brian leaving, we have filled the Camera Calculator product manager role (senior integrator who will be announced later this month when he joins), hired a full-time support manager (new position, goal is to help streamline support and be more proactive) and added helped on the business research side.

While we plan to hire another senior team member, it will not be immediately as we incorporate the other recent additions.

Any questions, feedback or thoughts, please share.

Again, thanks Brian, and best of luck!

Thanks, John, and thanks for the opportunity to be a part of IPVM.  I definitely benefited from the exposure to so many companies and organizations during my tenure with IPVM.

BRK will be a great asset for any company he works for, and he hopefully will continue to be one of 'the ringers' here on the IPVM forums.  Good luck to you sir!

Thanks, but I will be working with new products incorporating thermal sensors, not the Lorex/Digimerge side of the product line.

Thanks, but I will be working with new products incorporating thermal sensors...

IMHO, when talking with bashis, it’s safest not to mention products which incorporate RJ-45 jacks ;)

Congratulations and continued success Brian.  I've really enjoyed your contributions the last two years.  Personally, your and IPVM's coverage of M&A/investments, events/marketing activities as well as emerging technologies/companies adds true depth to the site and my only daily guilty pleasure on the internet.

BK ... Appreciated the penetrating insights and well researched articles you brought to the writing table.   Enjoy your next chapter!   Sounds like we’ll still see you once in a while on a trade show floor somewhere.

I'd say the odds are pretty good on that.
