Experience With Digital Watchdog And Edge Recording?

I have a client that needing a 9 camera CCTV solution - spread out between four locations. So it is just 1-3 cameras per site - all connected via a VPN.

I was thinking of using some DV MegaPix cameras with microSD recording - 512gb cards in each one. Because the bandwidth at each location varies and in some cases is rather slow (40 down, 10up) - I would like to integrate Edge Recording with their Spectum IPVMS, which I have never used before (we use Milestone.)
