I have a site with multiple buildings. The main building has a 4U Exacqvision server and in the rear slots of the server, there appear to be built in COM ports that can be used (COM2, COM3, COM4). A second building, about 2,000ft away, is directly connected to the main building with fiber. This second building has two cameras mounted on the building and a 'community' TV has a PC connected to it via HDMI and the computer is running Exacq Client software displaying these two cameras (the community is a small group of office user that sit in a shared space and the TV is mounted in a central location to these users). They have access to a wireless mouse and keyboard to allow them to double click one of the camera frames to view the image in full screen, if needed.
One of the users asked me if it is possible to play an alarm type of sound when motion is detected. I also tried to explain to them that they would likely want this disabled within an hour of it being set up, but that I would look into it and get back to them.
