Embedded IP Based NVR's With 2 Network Interfaces?

Hello all,

I have a customer who typically installs Hikvision embedded 16 and 32ch NVR's.    They asked today if any similar NVR's are available that have 2 network ports.   1 port for a dedicated ip camera network, another port for the customer's LAN- for remote access/live view/playback etc.

It hasn't been easy to dig through all of the various products in this category and find what they are asking for.

Just curious if I'm missing something simpler that would allow for easy access to the NVR from customer network while isolating cameras on another physical network with only a single NIC in the NVR.

Dahua Employee:

I’m sure there are several brands but Dahua has NVR’s with 1,2 and 4 NIC’s for this separation and load balancing.

So if I understand you right, you want only two rj-45 Ethernet jacks, as opposed to 8+1 or 16+1 etc.

Hikvision has a number of nvr’s with 2 LAN ports, for instance the DS-96xxNI-I8 series looks like this in the back:

whether they’re otherwise “similar” to the embedded models depends on your definition of similar :)

Many of Exacqvision's  NVRs feature dual NICs as well. Take a look at the LC series as a comparable. Linux OS as well.

The company I work for build exactly these.

The unit has proprietary software and two NICs, one for cameras and one for network/internet connectivity.

normally, an employee of a manufacturer posting undisclosed about one of their products would be expected to do a *Full Disclosure* of affiliation.

However, since you have not actually mentioned any company, I guess no harm, no foul :)

This is the very reason why I did not name my company; plus I am merely mentioning that there are companies that do indeed produce two NIC systems.

If I was going to say Company A's hardware vs Company B's vs the one I work for was better, then by all means I would have disclosed.

Thank you though for pointing this out though, as I have seen a few Undisclosed Manufacturers on the forums here who do state their business is better than Company X or Company Y, and not providing any hard evidence.

--Hanwha manufacturer rep--

Hanwha has a couple lines of NVR's with a minimum of 2 NIC's and up to 4 NIC's onboard.  The default for these is that one of the NIC's handles the camera network (runs DHCP on it to provide IP addresses to the cameras) and the 2nd NIC is for the remote network viewing.  This remote viewing can be done either via software or using a web browser.

We use single port NVRs all the time and use a small router between the camera network, and the clients network.

Flir Dvtel. And Honeywell Maxpro both have multiple network ports.

Thank you everyone for the feedback and details.

I was able to find some Hikvision/LTS models that do indeed have dual network ports.  It was just something that was difficult to find as a specific search term/item on most product sites.

I will keep the suggestions here in mind.
