Electronic Latch Retraction - Lever Lock

Hi guys,

Anyone know of an electronic latch retraction on a lever lock? I have a double door that's inset into the frame with a center mullion that extends approx 2-3 inches past the door when the door is closed. Putting an electric strike into the mullion will force us to cut the full depth on the mullion, making the install look ugly and unprofessional. THis door will open inwards and will not have a panic bar on it.

Just to add to the above:

This doorway has one door opening inward and one door opening outward.

The inward swinging door will allow ingress via an ACS, the outward swinging door will allow egress via a panic bar.

Picture would be helpful. If I am hearing you correctly the access control side will be a traditional leverset? If so then you could possibly install an electrified leverset using a transfer hinge or door cord.

Thanks Shannon,

I’ll get a picture when I’m onsite next week.

Yes, the the access controlled side currently has a standard storeroom function knob lock (to be changed to a lever lock)

My intension was to install an electrified lever lock. But, I’m under the assumption that electrified lever locks will unlock the lever and allow access by turning the lever? I would like a solution that retracts the tongue when power is applied via the ACS.

The electrified handles we have used still require the lever to be turned. I am not aware of a handle that retracts the tongue when power is applied. I will ask our manufacturer for you in case there is one and get back to you on Monday.

You could possibly use the HES 8000 series which actually pushes the latch out of the pocket. These work fairly well but need to be aligned very well.

Do you know what the model/make is of the current leverset?

Brian,

It’s a standard 2 1/8 hole with a 2 3/4 backset

If you have a double door with a mullion, PUT a panic bar on it. It's the right solution regardless of anything else .

I believe you didn’t read my post correctly.  This door swings inward.
