This RFP from the Cherokee Nation is looking for 275 Milestone licenses with SUPs.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment, LLC (CNE), a wholly owned company of the Cherokee Nation, is seeking 275 Milestone XProtect Corporate licenses with SUP for 1, 3, or 5 years. The winning bid will be awarded to a vendor who is a Milestone Platinum Level Partner. The vendor is required to meet the expectations outlined in the RFP. If you not able to meet these requirements, please indicate what your organization is capable of delivering.

  • (275) XPCODL X Protect Corporate Device Channel Licenses
  • (275) YXPCODL One Year SUP for XProtect Corporate Device Channel Licenses
  • (275) Y3XPCODL Three Years SUP for XProtect Corporate Channel License
  • (275) Y5XPCODL Five Years SUP for XProtect

Corporate Channel License Software Products (New Version Upgrades, Service Packs, Patches, etc.)

Is this a savvy move by the buyer, or just a formality? It seems like this would invite Milestone integrators, or possibly even distributors, to bid with super-slim margins. You would not make money on this, but it would inflate your Milestone partner status nicely I think.

It is likely a method recommended by either their Milestone Channel Manager in order to ensure they get the best price or by an existing Platinum partner that is using it to keep all the other partners out. With Milestone, it requires a direct invitation to be a Platinum partner and it is typically reserved for the Nat'l integrators only, like Convergint, JCI, etc., so there's only a few of them...maybe 5-6 total?

Other dealers can get the Platinum level pricing as a Gold Partner, so this isn't just a pricing play...it's to limit the field.
