Dropcam Has Got A VP Of Sales Now

The Silicon Valley startup that first took a contrarian approach to the security industry is getting more traditional by the day.

First, they had a booth at ISC West. Now, they have hired a VP of Sales, who was previously a sales executive at consumer DVR company TiVo.

And, crazy enough, he's going to ESX.

Everyone always talks about Dropcam getting bought up by a larger company, like Google/Nest.

I'm curious, though. What do you think the chances are Dropcam buys up an alarmco?

Depends on whether their strategy is to consumerfy surveillance or securify home automation.

Maybe a company like Revolv. If an Alarm company, it would be a Central Station and not a manufacturer as the money is in RMR in that industry.
