I was reading an article is SIW that says EDGE360 and IDIS were awarded a contract in Houston, TX. Who distributes their products and what support do they have in the US (sales and technical)? I've never come across them in the field, anyone else? I think it's amazing that a company with little stateside exposure won a contract with America's 4th largest city...
Does IDIS Have US Distribution?
We covered IDIS previously: IDIS International Expansion Examined. They do have integrators in the US, I have spoken to a couple along the way.
Regarding Houston, their Senior Director of US Sales, Keith Drummond, is from Texas and worked in Houston when he was at BRS Labs. It is likely the Houston contract came about via some of Keith's connections.
They had about 2 dozen people in the US earlier this year, and I've seen a couple of recent hires as well via LinkedIn.
Who distributes their products...?
Direct to Dealer is their model. not sure what the differentiator is aside from some neat tricks with fisheyes.
This is one tight channel!
We used to get IDIS through ADI... rather, through Burtek before they merged and became with ADI.
More accurately, we got support for existing IDIS systems that customers had, from Burtek... don't think we ever actually bought any of the systems though.
