Has Anyone Managed To Use An IP Joystick With Milestone?

Hello all,

I know that you can connect a joystick/keyboard (like the Axis one) to Milestone via USB.

But is there any way to use Milestone with an IP joystick, in case you cannot connect the joystick directly to the machine, for example, if the computer is up in the ceiling.

Thank you :)

Do you have a specific IP joystick in mind? I was able to identify a few, but many of those are made to work specifically with the same brand NVR/DVR.

They used to have a special driver for " stand alone" joysticks ( IP ) which worked in Corporate if I remember well. They had drivers for Panasonic, Bosch and Pelco maybe.

I guess this doesn't help much but ... it's what I remember. Will research it and come back with a better info but still no personal experience... sorry

You can try to use Bluetooth Xbox controller as joystick with Smart Client, it works :). Another option is to use any kind of USB extenders.

I would agree with Kestutis.  Because the joystick has to be seen as a joystick within Windows, you would either need to use some sort of USB extender or something like the bluetooth Xbox controller.  We have a few customers using it.
