If not, why is it still supported on new cameras?
Surely it takes some minimal development/support effort to keep it working.
But if it actually works, maybe it could have some value, for instance if you are having difficulty with the ONVIF driver, try connecting thru PSIA.
Though I’ve never heard anyone suggesting such a thing.
Maybe I’ll call Hik support and see what they say ;)
Only a few manufacturers ever used it. One or two still have it in, but I think it is due to their reusing code and not due to actual use.
I have never heard of anyone using it in my 10 years in the industry but I always laugh when I see it in a spec sheet.
Hikvision deleted both Genetec and PSIA protocol support earlier this year.
