I want to assemble my own cameras. A bit of an IT type project for me. Need to learn more about the image sensors, SOC's, lens boards, POE circuits, firmware, etc.

Nov 15, 2017#1, DIY in video surveillance is typically buying low-cost product and installing it yourself. For example, IPCamTalk is big among DIYers but I don't think many of them assemble their own cameras.

The other thing I've seen is people building IP cameras using a Raspberry Pi.
