Direct Burial Control Cable For Access Control System Around Pool Gates

Has anyone ever used any type of direct burial control cabling instead of buried pvc conduit for controlling pool gate locks, i.e. card readers, 12vdc locks, rex/dss, etc?

Does such cable exist as it does for flooded network cable? There are interlocked concrete pavers and some grass areas between where the controller will be mounted and the pool gates, so we will need to pull the pavers no matter what.
