Did Anybody Hear A Rumor About Pelco Buying Hikvision?

That was a rumor a few years ago - Would a Hikvision / Pelco Deal Make Sense?

A lot of people close to Pelco confirmed that there were discussions / negotiations but that it did not come through.

Since then, I have heard nothing substantive. That does not mean a deal would happen (or not), I just have nothing new to add.

Btw, I think Hikvision's brand / distribution is well enough established now in the West that spending hundreds of millions to a billion on Pelco wouldn't make sense. On the other hand, I think it would make a lot of sense for Dahua to try to buy Pelco.
