Has anyone seen this yet? It's still primitive but the concepts are valid. Using a standard video source, and by filtering out noise and uber-amplifying the tiniest changes in color and motion, a hidden world come to life. Applications include the ability to view a person's pulse or breathing pattern. Fascinating stuff and a look forward to yet more applications using surveillance cameras as a data source.
The last third of the video has a bonus offshoot application, recreating audio in a room with just video as your source by analyzing the subtle changes that occur in a plant leaf or chip bag from sound waves (unfortunately recreating audio requires a high speed camera, i.e. 1000 FPS) but still very cool.
