Dahua Smartpss And NKB-1000 PTZ Keyboard Controller

Can anyone assist, or has anyone set up a Dahua NKB-1000 keyboard controller, not on the NVR, but to be used remotely with a PC running SmartPSS?

I am about to inherit a site that has this setup, but has never worked!

I am hoping I can gain some points by making it magically come alive.

I haven't made one work using USB to PSS, but I have made it work by adding NVR/DVR into Zones using their IP address. I would try that first.
