Crazy Hotel Prices For ISC West

Due to horrible scheduling conflict on the side of the ISC management the dates are almost the same as the National Association of Broadcasters 2018 4/9/2018-4/12/2018 which attracts more than 100k attendees (according to the website).

Prices of the hotels are more than double last year and on an average over $160 dollars a night. I'm sure air fare won't be cheap either.

I really hope this won't hurt the amount of people attendees who don't have to be there like us who paid for a booth. Any chance to get a reply from the ISC management why this was overlooked? or what do you guys think?

Check the ISC West website to book hotels they have blocks and prices I couldn't get direct with the hotel because of stated NAB show which I think just overlaps Tuesday and Wednesday of that week

The ISC West website doesn't have rooms and actually worse rates in most places than what you can find on the internet.

AirBNB might be worth a look.

Let's not forget to add on those ever increasing "resort fees"...

Hi all - this is my first official IPVM post. It's a big day for me :)

For a little background, ISC West dates are booked a minimum of 5-years in advance. We work hard in negotiating our contracts to ensure we don’t overlap Easter or Passover. Unfortunately, that means that we do at times overlap other shows. We have overlapped with NAB in the past and have never suffered from a decrease in attendance. So I am not anticipating any issues this year. In fact, our pre-registration is already significantly higher than last year!

In terms of hotels, we have negotiated room rates on our website. The lowest rate right now is at Bally's at $74/night and they range from there. So hopefully we are offering something for every budget. I spot checked our rates vs. the hotel sites and we are significantly under on every one.

But, if you see something different, or want to talk offline, call or email me. I'm happy to address any issues to ensure the exhibiting and attending experience is smooth. Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas.

Hi Sherida,

Thank you for your detailed answer and i agree scheduling is hard but NAB is one of the largest conferences Vegas hosts. Easter and Passover this year are both around March 30-April 1st. It would have been better to postpone it a week later when the prices drop to half.

As far as Hotels, the ones most people "wish" to book are the walking distance hotels: Treasure island, Mirage since they usually have good pricing. Last year booked the Mirage for $80 a night before fees, this year it's $200 a night. Same for the treasure.

Other hotels are far which require a form of transportation that cost money and take longer.

The price drops the following week because of supply and demand.  If our show was a week later, most likely then the prices would go up as well.

If Bally's is $74/night, that is a great deal...

The word great and Bally's can't be in the same sentence :)

I started looking at some rooms to extend my stay over the weekend and the nicer places on the strip are $500 a night for Friday/Saturday.

Fyi, you can stay at the Venetian and the price is ~$300 night both during the show and the weekend after. Book through the ISC West website.

I think you can find in the range of 200-300 a night but still way over priced.

This all reminds me of a discussion a few years ago with a colleague about how we all freak out over $100+ /night rates at Treasure Island or Harrahs yet have no issue paying $200-300/night for a dumpy room in NYC
