Client Wants Arecont With Digital Watchdog?
We have never used Arecont but it seems like from what I read here, I may want to have the client use a different camera?
The camera will have to work with DW's Spectrum software
As you know, Arecont's single imager cameras don't have much competitive differentiation, so it would be fairly easy to offer many rival 2MP or higher varifocal cameras.
They have an existing DW BlackJack NVR with 24 Arecont cameras. They just want to stick with the same. All I know is they are Megadome2 2MP varifocal cameras. I am trying to get the exact model. I will be pushing for a different manufacturer.
Spectrum = Watchdog
Arecont = Watch, dog!
What is it about Arecont that they want or like? I ask because knowing that would allow for better suggestions about what to offer or counter with.
For example, if they want a low-cost repositionable multi-imager, the Axis P3707-PVE (Tested) would be a good alternative.
